Special Martini Cocktail

Today, Marco presents a unique twist on the Martini a cross between a Gibson and a Dirty Martini which we have dubbed the Bolognami Special Martini. Countless legends and recipes surround this cocktail, dating back to the late 1800s, and today, the Bolognami version joins that storied history


Ingredients

  • Crushed Ice: As needed
  • Vodka: 6 cl
  • Dry Vermouth: 1 cl
  • Pickled Onions
  • Wild Fennel Seeds
  • Lemon Peel

Preparation:

Chill the Glass: Begin by placing ice into a cocktail coupe to chill it. The Mix: In a mixing glass, combine the Vodka and Dry Vermouth. The "Special" Touch: Add 2 tablespoons of the brine from the pickled onions. Note: For the best flavor, the onions should be left to macerate with the wild fennel seeds for a full day beforehand. The Finish: Discard the ice from the chilled coupe. Strain and pour the cocktail into the glass. Garnish: Express the oils from the lemon peel over the drink, drop the peel into the glass, and your Bolognami Special Martini is ready to enjoy
