The undisputed protagonist of the Bee's in a Trap recipe, in addition to the Whiskey, is Bolognami Acacia Honey, a very precious product, harvested in Tuscany and obtained from Robinia flowers; it is characterized by a high content of fructose rather than glucose, a quality that allows it to remain liquid and silky for a long time, delaying its crystallization. Recognizable for its clarity and straw yellow color with amber highlights, it is a delicate honey, which recalls the scent of the flower from which it comes; it is sweet, with a hint of acidity and a hint of vanilla and confetti. When added to the Bee's in a Trap Cocktail, it gives a delicate and natural sweetness, softens the harshness of the Ginger and balances the flavor of the Whiskey.   • 4.5 cl Bourbon Whiskey
  • 3 cl Officinal Liqueur with Honey and Whiskey Base
  • 2 cl Ginger Shrub with Vinegar Base
  • Beeswax
  • Ice
  • Basil Flowers (For Garnish)

Preparation Bee's in a Trap Cocktail

Take a cocktail glass and fill it with ice cubes, swirling them inside for a few seconds, so as to cool it. Put some ice in a shaker and then pour 4.5 cl of Bourbon Whiskey; add a homemade officinal liqueur, based on Whiskey and Bolognami Acacia Honey. Add a Ginger Shrub containing a Vinegar base to the preparation, to give an acidity component to the drink. Instead of shaking the mixture, mix it using the throwing technique which, in addition to oxygenating it, will also serve to cool it. Take a small bottle in which we have previously melted some beeswax, insert the Cocktail inside and let it blend with the smell of the wax; this step will allow the drink to acquire delicious floral olfactory notes. To enhance the floral notes, it is possible to prolong the residence time of the product in the bottle with beeswax up to 24 hours. Finally, pour our Cocktail into the cup and add a few basil flowers as decoration: our drink is ready to be sipped.
